I thought I would post a picture of how the nursery is coming along. The crib and bedding look nice with the paint job of the room. We are happy so far with how things are turning out.

Faith...
So I was a little lacking in the faith department because I was not sure if anything in our garden would grow. I was worried that we maybe planted the seeds to deep or not deep enough, were weren't watering them enough or too much, etc. Yeah, things are starting to grow!!!The onions are doing the best and are all coming up as you can see. We also have our lettuce and broccoli coming up too. It is just amazing that you can plant a small seed in the ground that will eventually turn into some vegetable to eat. It is a miracle.
We have a few cucumber plants that are starting to come up and a zucchini squash plant too. It makes me so excited that things are actually starting to grow. I can't wait until we get to enjoy it!

Steel Magnolias
Mat and I went with some friends and saw Steel Magnolias the other day. One of our friends played Truvy in the play. She did an excellent job and it was a blast to see. It was really funny and we had a good time seeing this play. So if you want to go see a good play go and see this one.

Luncheon with the Girls
So my Mom wanted to have daughters over for a luncheon for a Mother's Day treat. She wants to start doing this every year on the Saturday after Mother's Day (I think). Not everyone was able to come, but we had a good time. Thanks for putting it all together and doing it mom. You are the best! She made homemade Cafe Rio which was excellent as usual. We had Lindsey (my sister-in-law), Emma (niece), Mindy (cousin), my Aunt Heidy (my mom's sister), Kaka (cousin), Jenny (cousin), and then my Mom.
Here's a picture with me in it.
Two of my sisters missionary companions come over too. It was great to see them. They told us a few good stories about my sister and we saw some pictures too. It was a nice luncheon.
Back Breaking
So Mat and I this weekend created a garden from scratch. On Friday night we tore up a section of our lawn so that we could create a garden to grow yummy food this summer. We ended up with an area of 16x12. Trying to get up the sod was not fun with just Mat and I, a shovel, and a knife, but it got done. It was a lot of hard work and we are SO glad that we are done. Not really done because there is always maintenance, but at least there is a garden in now.
This is the beginning of what it looked like before the garden was completed..
We are just over half-way through getting the sod up. FYI I was helping, but am not in any pictures because I took them all.
About 8:30ish on Friday night we finally finished getting all the sod up.
Here is Mat trying to till the ground with the "beast".
Here is some lovely black top soil that we put on top of our not so good soil.
Here is the lovely garden after everything was planted. I hope things grow. By the time we got around to planting stuff we were both extremely tired and I just wanted things done. The organization of it did not turn out exactly how I wanted, but at that point I didn't really care. I will just be happy if something grows. We both love fresh veggies. It will be nice to have a bunch over the summer. I am excited!!!!
A week late a dollar short
So I should have posted about Mother's Day a week ago, but better late than never. We had a nice Mother's Day. Mother's are the greatest. What would we do without them? The Mothers in our lives are such great women. They are good examples, sacrifice so much on our behalf, and make life so much sweeter. Many lessons have been learned by all the great women in our lives.
On Mother's Day we started the day off by talking to my sister who is on a mission in Germany. It was great to hear here voice. She is doing really well on her mission. She just got transferred and has a new companion, but not really new because her companion now is the companion she had in the MTC. So that is really fun for her and she is really excited about that. Then we went to a homecoming for one of my sisters missionary companions (actually her trainer). It was fun to see her companion and one of the stories she told in her talk was when she was companions with my sister. She was telling the story and I was like I have heard that before. It was really neat.
Then later on that day we were able to talk with my brother and had dinner over at my Mom's. My little brother is doing really well as well. He just got transferred to an area that is pretty nice. He enjoys his new area and the members are really great too. He will be home in the end of July. It has gone by really fast. My mom made some yummy chicken soup. It has some really good mango salsa in it. It was sweet and spicy, just all around delicious. We then headed over to Mat's Moms house. We had a good time over there visiting. Mat's mom and step-dad had just gotten back from a four wheeling weekend. Val (Mat's step-dad) not to be confused with Val (Mat's mom) made us some carrot juice while we were there. It was OK. It reminded me of growing up and staying at my grandma's house. She use to make us carrot juice all the time and make us drink it. I don't care for carrots and I hated drinking the juice. I had some last week because I know it is good for me. Hopefully I got lot's of Vitamin A now. Then two of his brothers and crew ended up coming over too. We stayed over for a while and didn't end up having time to go and visit anyone else.
Here is my mommy.
Ellie and Ben playing in pj's while we were talking to my sister on her mission.

Thanks to all those great Mothers out there.

Celebrate Good Times
So on Sunday May 2nd we had Mat's Mom and family over for dinner to celebrate Mat's moms birthday which was May 3rd. We had a good time. Mat's three brothers and wives and kids were all able to make it along with his Mom and Step-dad too. We had a fabulous turkey dinner and then some yummy brownies and ice cream for dessert. We played a little Apples to Apples and the birthday girl was the winner.

Saturday Project
So over the weekend we were able to put up the chair rail in the babies room. Or I should say that Mat and my Step-Dad were able to put it up on Saturday. They did a great job on it. I did, however, help paint the chair rail on Friday though. I am happy with the way the room turned out. It was a fun little project for both of us. I probably won't be painting vertical stripes anytime soon though.
I don't have a picture from it, but on Friday night we had a FSA (Families Supporting Adoption) activity. We are on the activities committee for it and helped plan some of the activities. It was a birthday party theme and we did some traditional birthday party activities. We had a pinata for the kids, limbo, and a cupcake eating contest. We had a good time and I even learned something new: Mat is good at the limbo. I wish I had a picture of him doing it, but oh well. Mat can really bend backwards. Mat came in second place, but it was a close one.
