Family Fun Eggravaganza
At family night last night we had an Easter Egg Hunt. Not all of the little kids were there last night, so Mat and I decided to join in some of the festivities too.
Here's me finding a cute little purple egg.
Here's Sydney and Will working their mad egg hunting skills together.
Here's Syd excited over finding "thousands" of eggs as she put it.
Will trying to pick up more eggs.
Will building things with his Easter goodies.
Sydney had a real fun time with her Easter candies and built a candy castle.
Here's little Drew with Grandpa Stan. Drew was little young this year, but I am sure next year he will be all over the Easter Egg Hunt. Drew just barely turned 6 months.
Here's cute Drew and Me. Drew's a very good little baby. Mat's brother and wife are lucky.
We had a good time at family night and the nieces and nephews (that came) enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt put on my Grandpa and Grandma (Mat's Dad and Step-Mom).
My Daddy
My Dad's birthday was on Saturday and we were able to celebrate it on Sunday at my house. We had some of the fam come over for dinner and games. Not everyone was able to come, but we still had a great time. My Dad turned 55. We BBQ some yummy chicken kabobs. I am grateful for my Dad and all that he does for me.
Here's a picture of me and my Dad.
For dessert we had some yummy cupcakes that my sister-in-law made. They were messy so we had the kids eat them outside. Ellie is sure enjoying it.
Here is Mat and I with the Chitlins.
My brother Eric and Mat having fun swinging Ellie around.
After dinner we played Apples to Apples. The kids had a good time with this and laughed at the words they picked. My brother Eric won.
Here is a picture of some of the fam.

Temple Trip
Over the weekend we had a combined youth activity. We went to the temple to do baptisms. It was a great experience. Mat and I both enjoy working with the youth of our ward. They are a great group of kids. A member of the Temple Presidency came down and talked with us as well. He was wonderful and really funny too. Going to the temple is always great and the spirit of the Lord is always strong there.

Look at the size of that ring
So Happy St. Patty's Day a few days late. Mat and I both joined in the festivities of wearing green. I had on about 7 different green items. My department at work was doing a contest (I am on the committee in charge of it)for wearing green. For every article of green worn each person got a raffle ticket to put their name on for a drawing. We picked 3 lucky winners who got some green and gold ($10 bill and some chocolate gold coins). I was hoping to win, but did not. At Mat's work they hid 3 shamrock rings on each floor. The lucky people to find the rings received a $20 gift card. Mat was one of those lucky people. He found it in the medical/first aid kit. Happy days for us. Go green!

Sun Burn to Frost Bite
So this past weekend we had a fun get away in St. George. We both took Friday off of work and drove down to St. George early that morning. The weather was splendid on Friday. The sun was out and we definitely took advantage of it. We went hiking in Snow Canyon. It was so beautiful and warm. We both got a little sun burned from it. I love it, the warm weather that is! After our hike we went to the driving range and hit some golf balls. I seriously was horrible and it was like I hadn't played for a long time (like a year). Mat did alright. We enjoyed ourselves and hopefully will be able to go golfing soon. Then we went to a park and relaxed. We laid out on a blanket and both read our books. I seriously almost fell asleep just laying in the sun. It was fabulous. Mat is reading Work and the Glory vol 8 and I am reading The Grand Sophy. We headed to dinner after that. After dinner we enjoyed the arts. All along Main Street in St. George there are about 7 or 8 art galleries. They all stayed open so people could browse through them on Friday night. We went through and saw some great paintings. Mat and I usually don't go to art shows or galleries, but it was actually a lot of fun. The most expensive piece of art work we saw was of a farmer in the field for $62,000. I think I need to start up painting if I can make that kind of money (too bad for me that I can't even draw a stick figure).
On Saturday morning we woke up and had breakfast and then went to the St. George temple. We did an endowment session while there. It is a very beautiful temple. It is always fun to go to a new temple. You always get the same good feeling even while going to different temples. After the temple we decided to head home earlier than planned because of the storm headed in around Cedar City. Well we definitely got to enjoy the storm in the middle of it. It was crazy. The ice kept sticking to the windshield and Mat had to keep rolling down his window and flicking the wiper to get the ice off. Not fun. I tried to do it on my side a couple of times, but was not very successful. It was like little ice shards hitting your arm when you would stick it out the window. Anyway, it took us an extra hour to get home. It was very snowy and slick, but we were blessed and did not have any trouble. There were some who were not as fortunate as ourselves and slid off the road. The weekend started out with getting a sun burn and ended with us being frozen from the snow storm. Crazy. The weekend was great and it was nice to get away even though it was short.
This was in Snow Canyon. One of the trails we did was Turtle Wall.
Mat being silly.
Here is us at Southgate driving range.
My little golfer.
Here is us at the St. George Temple.
The St. George temple is so beautiful it just stands out.
Here is the view out the windshield from the passenger side.
It is hard to get a good picture while driving, but it was a blizzard out there.

So Nice
On Saturday evening we went to the temple because one of Mat's really good friends got sealed to his wife. They looked so happy. We went to dinner after the sealing at Teppaniyaki's (I don't know how to spell it). It was good food. We were planning on paying for our own meal, but the father of the bride was a little sneaky and he paid for everyone's dinner. That was really nice of him because there were like 30 people there and it is not a cheap place. It is like $20 a plate. We had a good evening.

Grateful for...
It came to an end as all things must...
So we did the cleanse for 5 days. We ended it on Saturday. We did not do it as long as we were suppose too, but we still did it for 5 days and I think that is great. I was surprised at how much energy I had and how good I felt even though we did not eat for those 5 days. I thought I would be weak physically, but I was not and I was still able to workout every morning. Another interesting tidbit about this cleanse was that I felt better last week physically and mentally than I do this week even though I am eating now. Crazy. The hardest part of the whole cleanse was smelling food and watching other people eat food. Food smells so delicious when you can't eat it. It was a fun adventure and who knows maybe we will try it again in the future.
